Have you ever seen something completely baffling but also technically excellent? I can’t believe how well this person edited Jane into Treasure Planet so she and Captain Amelia could fight the bad guy from Osmosis Jones. “Man,” I say to myself, “I could never make this bizarre music video about beloved animated characters becoming ghosts.”

I don’t get why y’all make fun of these so much cuz honestly it’s a test of editing skills just like fanart is testing your art skills

Do you make fun of people for making really amazing drawings of disney characters too? Cuz it’s the same stuff just different talents

I’ve seen so many gorgeous crossover videos before it’s a way to tell fun stories and test editing skills just like fan fiction tests writing

there is a difference between actual light skinned latinx people in the media who are light skinned and specifically DESIGNING latinx characters to be that way

when you design every latinx character to be pale skinned with light eyes and light straight hair THERES A PROBLEM

This girl is so cute! I wonder who she is the daughter of? I love her design it’s gorgeous

i dont think youre really understanding what im trying to say. i live in south america. beauty standards in here are literally "pale with blonde hair and blue eyes" and since he majority of us dont look like that we usually have low self esteem. it would be 19283858x times better to see more representation of us but the right way. no, not the honey lemon full european looking girl that speaks spannish sometimes. nor the stereotypical latina. i dont want to come off as mean buttttt

THE PALE BLONDE GIRL W/ BLUE EYES IDEAL IS WRONG!!! thats why we need girls looking different from that! because they deserve representation too ! so much of it
and i never said honey lemon had to look fully stereotypically hispanic (though id love for her to look like that) my point is that she looks TOO WHITE to be hispanic. for me, it’s all about disney being extremely lazy with ethnicities and racist with their models. they literally decided she was hispanic after fully designing her as a white character. this is the same as how gogo looks like a squinting elsa when you look at a conparison.
my point is that disney needs to stop making white girls and act like theyre from a different race, because thats racist and offensive as fuck, and what follows that wrong beauty standard and lowers self esteem.

real latinx representation:

"Every time someone told me there was no audience for Latino content it only motivated me to work even harder."

disneys idea of latinx representation:

"We were trying to figure out what kind of accent Honey would have, and one time I would go in with an accent, and another time I wouldn’t, and we figured out that when she said ‘Hiro’ it was going to be in Spanish, with a little bit of Spanish words."

I cannot believe Curvy Kate’s audacity to outright steal the work of a high school student for some insipid marketing message.

Shame on you, Curvy Kate. Shame on you.

youve obviously watched alot of hollywood where all of the representation of latinas are the same. dark sinned, brown/black hair. im not saying that its not beautiful, but its tiring because then white people like you think every single latinas looks and acts like this. wake up. latinas are very diverse.

tbh i actually dont watch a lot of hollywood films. i get the “idea” that most latin@ people look like that from people i met or saw on tumblr.
and yes, like i keep repeating, HISPANIC PEOPLE ARE VERY DIVERSE!! im just saying it’s pretty interesting, or rather, tiring, that disney chose for the diverse hispanic part that looks almost as white as possible.
youre obviously a white person and hey, so am i, but i learned my shit and was brought aware of these things. now it’s your turn.

THE OBVIOUS THING FROM THAT QUOTE IS THAT THEY FINISHED DESIGNING HER AND THENNNN DECIDED SHES LATINA, JUST SO SHE COULD SPEAK SPANISH

and who are you to judge?all of the latina representation that you see is in the internet and in hollywood. all of these keep feeding white people about "what makes a real latina" "all latinas know spannish and are angry" "all latinas are dark skinned with dark brown eyes and black hair" "all latinas are dumb and curvy bodied". a movie for once shows that not all these latina stereotypes are true but you claim its racist. ok bye since you know so much about latinas and our culture yeahh

tbh i have no idea where you get the idea that i have a very stereotyped view on hispanic peoples behaviour and how they ACT ? because 1. i dont and 2. we’re talking about honey lemons appearance here, where is this coming from
yeah im not gonna pretend i know so much of the culture because i DONT. im not one of those ppl who thinks i know shit bc i read a wikipedia page.
also multiple people who are actually hispanic agreed with what i said on this stuff, people of whom some also dont have every single stereotypical hispanic feature and they most likely know this shit way better than you do, an anonymous person who is most likely just as caucasian as i am.
